PSX Closing Bell: The Fall Sets In
Pakistan’s benchmark KSE-100 Index reversed Tuesday’s gains on Wednesday, falling 1,370.52 points or 0.81% to close at 168,021.80, as profit-taking and renewed selling across banks, fertilizer and cement stocks weighed on the market. The decline came after the previous session’s strong rebound, with investors booking gains and trimming positions in key index-heavy stocks. Selling pressure remained broad-based, with 76 of the 100 index constituents closing lower, keeping the benchmark under pressure for most of the session. The index traded in a range of 1,532.31 points, hitting an intraday high of 169,382.01, down 10.31 points, while the low stood at 167,849.70, down 1,542.62 points.
