Q2FY26 economy grows 3.89pc

The National Accounts Committee (NAC) on Thursday approved the provisional GDP estimates for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, saying that Pakistan’s economy expanded by 3.89 percent during the second quarter. The meeting was held here under the chairmanship of the Federal Secretary, Ministry of Planning and Development. The meeting, which was attended by relevant officials, including senior officials of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), updated second-quarter figures for the financial year 2025-26. The 116th NAC meeting said that the trend is led by the industry with 7.40 percent growth and supported by positive contributions from agriculture, 1.76 percent, and services, 3.69 percent. The economy grew by 3.89 percent during FY2025-26’s Q2.
