Awareness session held for SMEs formalisation

The Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), in collaboration with ILO, held an awareness session in Lahore on ILO Recommendation for SME formalization in the textile and auto value chains. Muhammad Asif, DGM SME Division, SMEDA, delivered an engaging session on the benefits of transitioning from informal to formal operations, including improved productivity, market access, and compliance with global standards. He highlighted ongoing efforts to support SMEs and home-based workers through digital tools and capacity-building. Participants from the value chain of textile, auto and various other sectors actively shared insights and challenges, contributing to a productive dialogue on strengthening formalization and promoting decent work through collective action.
