Hinopak Motors posts Rs244m loss, Exide earns over Rs900m

Hinopak Motors Limited (HML) posted a loss after tax of Rs244 million for the nine months ending December 2023 compared to profit after tax of Rs10m a year ago, the company said on Tuesday. This led to a loss per share of Rs9.83 against earnings per share of Rs0.41 in the same period last year. Hinopak’s sales of trucks and buses shrank to 240 units from 780, while revenue fell to Rs5.48bn from Rs9.80bn. Exide Pakistan Ltd The after-tax profit of Exide Pakistan Ltd soared to Rs908.28m for the nine months ending Dec 31, 2023, depicting a notable increase from Rs323.46m in the same period last year. The earnings per share accordingly rose to Rs116.92 from Rs41.64. Cumulative sales for the nine months increased from Rs15.6bn to Rs18.9bn, up 22pc compared to a year ago. Colgate Palmolive Pakistan Amid the high cost of living for consumers on account of rising food inflation and utility bills, the profit after tax of Colgate Palmolive Pakistan rose to Rs7.4bn for the half year ended Dec 31, 2023, from Rs4.2bn in the same period of 2022. The company’s net turnover surged to Rs55bn from Rs42bn.
